Enroll/Cost

Undergraduate students taking six (6) or more credit hours, all Graduate students taking three (3) or more credit hours, and CO-OP students are eligible to enroll. Classes must be on campus; online classes are not applied to the credit hour requirement.

International students are required to maintain insurance coverage throughout enrollment at the University of Louisville. Students need to register/ record their choice to enroll or waive the coverage by specified deadlines. 

Health Professional students are automatically charged for the student health insurance on to their student account. Students need to register/ record their choice to enroll or waive the coverage by specified deadlines. There are no exceptions. 

Graduate Teaching Assistants and Research Assistants (GTA / RA) are automatically enrolled in the plan as part of your benefit package. There is no cost to the student, and this plan cannot be waived.

You must complete the enrollment or waiver process.

The Student Health Insurance Premium will be billed to your student account when you register for courses. Watch for the email from Academic Health Plans in your University of Louisville student email account. The email will provide you with specific instructions on opting into the plan.

If you do not activate your enrollment into the plan during open enrollment, your enrollment will be activated after the close of the open enrollment period. This will result in a delay in your ability to use the Student Health Plan..

After you have completed the enrollment process you can add dependents to your coverage.

Your Student Health Insurance Premium is paid by the university as a benefit of your active position. To add dependents to your plan, click the button below. Students will make payment directly to AHP for dependent coverage.

Continuation of Coverage is only available to Insured Students and covered Dependents who have graduated or are no longer eligible for coverage under the University of Louisville Student Health Insurance Plan. Covered students must have been insured for at least three (3) continuous months before coverage terminated under the Prior and/or Current Plan. Students must enroll within 30 days after coverage terminates.
